Jaipur: Rajput women have canceled the proposed jauhar in protest against the controversial film 'Padmavat' in Chittorgarh of Rajasthan. Now women have demanded acceptance of euthanasia from the Prime Minister. The women of the Jauhar Swabhiman Forum had announced to do Jauhar on January 24 in the event of no restriction on the film, but now it has been withdrawn.
Rajdharman Singh, general secretary of Rajput Karani, in Chittorgarh, said that the decision to make jawar of all the society on January 24 has been canceled. A rally was held yesterday and women demanded euthanasia.
He said that after the rally, women have given a memorandum to the district administration officials in which demand for full ban on the film has been sought. He said that before this, a farm was distributed to women wanting to do jawar, but now it has been canceled.
Another leader Dharmendra Singh said that Johar was not legally correct. Therefore, it has been decided to withdraw it. He said that there is no plan at the organization level against the film on 24th January. Even if someone wants to come out of their own will and perform the demonstration, they can protest.
More than 1900 women had registered for Jawaharlal Nehru Jawaharlal Nehru on demanding full ban on the film. During the invasion of Alauddin Khizali in Chittodgarh Fort, for the sake of self-esteem, Rani Padmini of Mewar had made jewelery with 16 thousand women in 1303 AD.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi of Chittodgarh also said that no kind of activity like jauhar is proposed.
