Pics: Huge crowd gathers outside Sridevi’s Mumbai residence

Sridevi was last seen in 2017 film MOM. Her daughter Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut this year.

As Sridevi’s body is being brought to India from Dubai, a huge crowd has gathered outside her residence in Andheri, Mumbai. The actress, passed away on Sunday morning in Dubai where she was attending Sonam Kapoor’s cousin brother Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Accompanied by husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi made stunning appearances in the celebration. However, she left everyone in a state of utter shock when news of her untimely death broke out and sparked sadness across the nation.

The aircraft which will bring Sridevi's body is likely to depart from Mumbai around 1 pm and will arrive in Dubai at 4 pm. It is expected to reach Mumbai around 8 pm, according to a PTI report

“She has been fit and hale and hearty for a long time. She suffered a massive cardiac arrest in Dubai where she was on a short break and passed away after doctors could not bring her back. This was something that no one expected”, a source close to the Kapoor family was quoted as saying.

Starting her career as a child star, Sridevi worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films before debuting in Hindi films. The Indian government awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in 2013.

The actor is best known for her films Chandni, Lamhe, Mr India, Nagina and more in the 1990s. She also won praise and awards for recent film English Vinglish.

She was last seen in 2017 film MOM. Her daughter Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut this year. Sridevi’s last appearance onscreen will be in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero, helmed by Aanand L Rai.
