Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan today requested the students and citizens of the urban areas of Maharashtra to make the state drought free. The 53-year-old founder of the water foundation interacted with the students of Symbiosis University in Pune and appealed to them to become a Jilmitra and join the initiative to deal with the drought.

People of the city can contact the Dheemitrot Water Foundation Dot-in link and register on May 1 to work with the villagers in the villages. That day is Maharashtra Day. Amir said, "I would like to appeal to all the youth of Maharashtra to join Maharashtra with this noble cause of drought free. On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, celebrate it as a Mahashramdan and weigh the rural urban divide. ''

He said, "So far, more than one lakh people have already registered on the water meter app and we are expecting more support from all over Maharashtra. I will request every person to make the state free from drought and to take part in this mass movement.

Water Foundation will start the third edition of 'Satyamev Jayate Water Cup' with the aim of carrying the water conservation management program to 75 taluks in 24 districts of the state.
