At the National Film Awards ceremony, Akshay Khanna came with his stepfather, Kavita Daftari. Let me tell you that Vinod Khanna died on April 27 last year. He was suffering from cancer. Shahrukh Khan starrer 'Dilwale' was the last film of the actor who started his career with the film 'Man ki Mit' in 1968.

Vinod Khanna was also active in politics and won four times Lok Sabha elections. He is also the Union Minister. After starting film career with negative roles, Vinod Khanna is seen in the role of heroes in Hindi films. His first film as the hero was 'Hum Tum Aur Woh'. His major films include 'Elaan', 'My Village My Country', 'My Apne', 'Parvarish', 'Zamir', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Haraafari', 'Khoon Pasina' and many other films.
