New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is considering sending more than 50 winners who are not participating in the 65th National Film Awards distribution function to send citation, medals and checks through postal.
The winners of the national award were honored on May 3 in the national capital, Delhi, but many people decided to boycott the ceremony due to the President being given awards to a few winners.
Sources attached to the ministry said, "The Ministry is considering sending the award through postal service to those absentees at the function. Decision will be taken in this regard soon. "
He said that the tradition of sending the award through postal to those who do not participate in the program for some reason is not new. This year's award distribution program was organized in two stages in Vigyan Bhawan.
In the first phase, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore honored the winners. In the second phase, President Ramnath Kovind presented other awards, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
