Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh Governments reach ban on 'Padmavat', Supreme Court to hear tomorrow

Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh Governments reach ban on 'Padmavat', Supreme Court to hear tomorrow

The Rajasthan government has argued that the release of the film can lead to violence in the state. They claim that the intelligence department has also given similar reports.

New Delhi: Today the Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh government has approached the Supreme Court against the removal of the state ban on the film 'Padmavat'. Both the states filed an appeal and the Supreme Court has requested that it withdraw its decision on the release of the controversial film Padmavat on January 18. Now this case will be heard tomorrow.

Chief Justice Justice Deepak Mishra, Justice A.K. M. Khanvilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandra has ordered tomorrow's date for hearing on the interim application for both the states seeking amendment in the Supreme Court order related to the film's performance. States have claimed that Section 6 of the Cinematograph Act empowers them to stop the performance of any controversial film on the basis of possible violation of law and order.

Senior Advocate Harish Salve is watching the case from the makers of 'Padmavat' in the Supreme Court. In such a case, he opposed the urgent hearing on the interim application. Although the Supreme Court has approved the case tomorrow.

The court had cleared the way for the release of the film on January 25 throughout the country through its January 18 order. In his order, he had postponed the ban on the film's performance in Gujarat and Rajasthan. In this regard, although Haryana and Madhya Pradesh have not issued any formal notification, but they have said that the film will not be displayed in the states.

Informing you on the release of Padmavat, the Supreme Court had said in the last days, "At first glance, this matter is a moratorium on the freedom of expression. When the Central Film Certification Board has given permission to the film, the state can not be stopped. Maintaining law and order is not our job. This is the work of the government. "
Let me tell you that in the meanwhile, the protest has increased in the film. The fire of protest has reached Delhi from Gujarat. Rajput society protested fiercely in Noida, Gurgaam, Surat and Lucknow yesterday and sabotage

Please tell that the film was about to be released on December 1, 2017, but the film was strongly opposed in many states across the country. After this, the makers had postponed the film's release and later announced that the film would be released on January 25. On the same day, Akshay Kumar's Padman was about to be released, but he went ahead with the release date of his film by looking at the problems of Bhansali. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor are the main characters in this movie. The makers have made whatever changes the censor board had asked to do, but despite this the protest is not taking the name of the stoppage.
